What we collect
When you use our enquiry form we collect what you need help with, your name, email address, phone number, country, detector model, serial number, warranty status, and a description of the fault or your question.
If a repair goes ahead we also keep your delivery address, your proof of purchase and our payment records.
Why we use it and on what basis
- To give you a quote and carry out a repair: this is taking steps before, and performing, a contract with you.
- To keep accounting records: this is a legal obligation.
- To follow up on a repair you have sent us: this is our legitimate interest in checking that the work is right.
Who receives it
- Amazon Web Services, London region, which hosts this site and delivers form messages to us.
- Zoho, which provides our email mailbox.
- Minelab, for warranty claims. We share your name, serial number and proof of purchase.
- Couriers, who carry your detector.
- Our payment provider, when you pay.
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement cookies are set only if you choose Accept on the banner. Nothing else on this site sets cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie choices" link in the footer.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a repair: 12 months.
- Repair and accounting records: 6 years.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your details, ask us to correct them, ask us to erase or restrict their use, and object to our use of them. Contact us using the details above.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
